2017-04-07packagegroup-core-standalone-sdk-target: add libssppaule/libssp-sdk-mortyPaul Eggleton
If you want to be able to use -fstack-protector then you need the runtime support - you can either write this yourself or use libssp supplied with GCC. If you're using GCC then it seems likely that you'd just be using libssp, so include in the SDK by default; however use RRECOMMENDS just in case it's been disabled or you aren't using GCC. 2016-06-17packagegroup-self-hosted: add back Python 2Ross Burton
Some recipes depend on Python 2 being present (eg glib and ncurses) so until they've all been migrated to Python 3 we should continue to ship Python 2 in the self-hosted packagegroup. 2016-06-12packagegroup-self-hosted: port to Python 3Ross Burton
A self-hosting packagegroup needs to ship Python 3 for bitbake, not Python 2. Remove python-compiler as it was a standard module in Py2 and removed in Py3. Remove python-misc as it is pulled in via python3-modules. Remove python-rpm as it is only required by Smart, and if smart is installed then python-rpm will be too. 2015-08-31packagegroup-base: pull in iw as well as wireless-toolsChristopher Larson
As was discussed in the commit which adds iw: iw uses cfg80211/nl80211, which is the way of the future. wireless-tools uses WEXT, which uses ioctl, which is in deep maintenance mode. See http://wireless.kernel.org/en/developers/Documentation/Wireless-Extensions. Also https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Documentation/iw indicates "The old tool iwconfing, which uses Wireless Extensions interface, is deprecated and it's strongly recommended to switch to iw and nl80211." wireless-tools is kept as well for now for compatibility reasons, until we have verified that all the network configuration mechanisms are using iw. This adds VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_wireless-tools as a distro convenience. Signed-off-by: Christopher Larson <chris_larson@mentor.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-08-19packagegroup-core-standalone-sdk-target: remove qemuwrapper-crossRobert Yang
Remove qemuwrapper-cross from RDEPENDS, install a cross pkg in sysroots isn't useful, if we really need run qemuwrapper in SDK, we should add it as nativesdk, and it has multilib conflicts when populate_ sdk: error: file /usr/bin/crossscripts/qemuwrapper from install of qemuwrapper-cross-1.0-r0.lib32_x86 conflicts with file from package qemuwrapper-cross-1.0-r0.core2_64 [YOCTO #8089] Signed-off-by: Robert Yang <liezhi.yang@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

2015-07-31packagegroups-cross-canadian: don't override TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCHDmitry Eremin-Solenikov
There is no point in overriding TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH in packagegroups-cross-canadian recipe. The cross-canadian class sets the PACKAGE_ARCH variable, thus allarch class (inherited through packagegroup class) doesn't change variables. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-07-31packagegroup-cross-canadian: Make the code more readableRichard Purdie
Make the code more readable by using the functions slightly differently. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-07-20gamin: removeRoss Burton
Gamin hasn't been required for many years now, maintenance upstream stopped in 2008 and the addition of inotify to the kernel made it redundant. Remove the recipe from oe-core, and references to it in pacakgegroup-core-lsb (LSB doesn't require gamin) and packagegroup-self-hosted. Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-06-23meta: Add explict getVar param for (non) expansionRichard Purdie
Rather than just use d.getVar(X), use the more explict d.getVar(X, False) since at some point in the future, having the default of expansion would be nice. This is the first step towards that. This patch was mostly made using the command: sed -e 's:\(getVar([^,()]*\)\s*):\1, False):g' -i `grep -ril getVar *` Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-06-23packagegroup-core-tools-profile.bb: Remove oprofile.Philip Balister
Oprofile functions duplicate perf. Since perf is easier to use drop oprofile from the core-tools-profile package. Also, the oprofile-ui package opens a port on the device. removing this package reduces a possible security issue for devices with profiling tools. Signed-off-by: Philip Balister <philip@balister.org> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-06-23packagegroup-core-sdk.bb: Drop distcc from the core-sdk.Philip Balister
distcc has been used in the past to speed up native compile across several machines. This is less an issue on modern embedded systems. Also, improvements in sdk generation have reduced the need for on target compile of large projects. Since the distcc packages start a daemon at boot, drop it from the packagegroup to avoid having some slight runtime impact on systems installing an sdk. Signed-off-by: Philip Balister <philip@balister.org> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-05-20testapps: remove old gst-meta-audio/video dependenciesAlexander Kanavin

2015-03-20packagegroup zeroconf: nss-mdns is libc dependantBernhard Reutner-Fischer
glibc provides NSS, other libc do not, so only add libnss-mdns to the zeroconf package group for glibc. This fixes the build of core-image-sato for e.g. uClibc Signed-off-by: Bernhard Reutner-Fischer <rep.dot.nop@gmail.com>

2015-01-29arch-mips.inc: Change definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCHMark Hatle
[YOCTO #7230] In certain system configurations TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH will not expand in the right order for gcc-cross-candian-mips64n32 to be generated properly. This will cause SDKs to fail to generate properly. Changing the global definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH always expands the ABIEXTENSION, which causes the OVERRIDES to pick it up as well. This effectively defines a new class of overrides for the 'n32'. The side effect is that we need to duplicate some mips64 overrides, and redefine others that were previously 'n32' or 'mips64' exclusive to have the correct semantics. Signed-off-by: Mark Hatle <mark.hatle@windriver.com>
2015-01-23packagegroup-self-hosted: package all of PythonPaul Gortmaker
Based on commit 745dfbc869fd593d1b92e2bc9c01d589ab21ade3 "buildtools-tarball: package all of Python", we do the same here for packagegroup-self-hosted. The switch to the fetcher where it added BeautifulSoup revealed a shortcoming in the python packaged for the self hosting (missing htmlentitydefs). Here we fix it in the same way as what was done for buildtools-tarball and include python-modules vs. all the individual little chunks.
