2024-02-13scripts: python 3.12 regexAdrian Freihofer
All the regexes throw a warning like this: WARNING: scripts/lib/recipetool/create_buildsys.py:140: SyntaxWarning: invalid escape sequence '\s' proj_re = re.compile('project\s*\(([^)]*)\)', re.IGNORECASE) Python 3 interprets string literals as Unicode strings, and therefore \s is treated as an escaped Unicode character which is not correct. Declaring the RegEx pattern as a raw string instead of unicode is required for Python 3. 2019-05-09meta/lib+scripts: Convert to SPDX license headersRichard Purdie
This adds SPDX license headers in place of the wide assortment of things currently in our script headers. We default to GPL-2.0-only except for the oeqa code where it was clearly submitted and marked as MIT on the most part or some scripts which had the "or later" GPL versioning. The patch also drops other obsolete bits of file headers where they were encoountered such as editor modelines, obsolete maintainer information or the phrase "All rights reserved" which is now obsolete and not required in copyright headers (in this case its actually confusing for licensing as all rights were not reserved). More work is needed for OE-Core but this takes care of the bulk of the scripts and meta/lib directories. The top level LICENSE files are tweaked to match the new structure and the SPDX naming. 2017-12-02scripts/contrib/bbvars.py: Remove dead codeAmanda Brindle
Removed the -m option since this script now searches through all recipes in the configuration. Also removed dead code, which includes the functions recipe_bbvars() and collect_bbvars(). Signed-off-by: Amanda Brindle <amanda.r.brindle@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2017-11-08scripts/contrib/bbvars.py: Rewrite to use tinfoilAmanda Brindle
Use tinfoil to collect all variable names globally and in each recipe. No longer show the count of variables if they are undocumented. Fixes [YOCTO #2086] Signed-off-by: Amanda Brindle <amanda.r.brindle@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

Changed old syle except statements 'except <exception>, var' to new style 'except <exception> as var' as old style is not supported in python3. Signed-off-by: Ed Bartosh <ed.bartosh@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2011-01-12bbvars.py: add a script to look for undocumented variablesDarren Hart
bbvars.py will compare recipes in meta directories with documentation files and report on variables that don't appear to be documented. It reports the number of times a variable is used as well as any doctags present in the documentation config file. The output of this is intended to aid in determining where documentation may be lacking, but it is not perfect, and does generate some false positives. An experienced eye and careful attention to count and doctag should be applied to the results. $ ./bbvars.py -d ../../documentation/poky-ref-manual/poky-ref-manual.html -m ../../meta -t ../../meta/conf/documentation.conf -T | head -n 10 Found 1413 undocumented bb variables (out of 1578): VARIABLE COUNT DOCTAG =================================================== BUILD_ARCH 4 The name of the building architecture. E.g. i686. BUILD_CC_ARCH 2 FIXME BUILD_PREFIX 4 FIXME BUILD_SYS 13 FIXME BUILD_VENDOR 2 FIXME CACHE 1 The directory holding the cache of the metadata. COMPATIBLE_HOST 19 A regular expression which matches the HOST_SYS names supported by the package/file. Failure to match will cause the file to be skipped by the parser.
